| Junior High and Senior High Youth
The youth ministries of Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church consist of Junior High and Senior High Youth. The Junior Highs and Senior Highs meet together. We have life lessons and play games. We go on excursions to different places like Stone Mountain Laser Show, Chattanooga, and a fun trip to the Dairy Queen.We offer an interactive Bible Study class for middle schoolers. The sessions are designed to teach Bible verses while building character. We keep a Bible verse journal, do various crafts, role-play, and go on "secret field trips." We discuss what happened since the last time we met, how we can best be all that God wants us to be, and end with prayer often voluntarily led by one of the kids. Quotes from participants include, "I wish we had longer in here, I turned down a dinner invitation to come tonight, I might have to be late, but I'll be there!"
We have yearly retreats to Report By The Sea in St. Simons, Georgia. Upcoming 6th Graders through college age go on this trip. St. Simons is a special place for our youth group. God always goes before us and prepares the way for a wonderful and spiritual trip.
In the winter time the Senior Highs go to a weekend retreat to Gatlinburg. We have lessons and enjoy the fellowship with one another.
We are currently doing a Bible Study on John. The study lasts the whole school year.
During the summer we meet in a more relaxed setting with games, short devotionals, and day trips. During the year we have youth meals and bake sale to help fund our retreats. We have sponsored a youth meal and all of the funds were donated to UMCOR to help with the Tsunami Relief.
Come join our youth group - we would love to have you. Wednesday nights we enjoy supper at the church at 6:00, then we meet in the youth room at 6:45
