"Welcome to the Pastor's Corner!"

"We Are Working Towards Our 2008 Goals"

1.Dwana Malone has involved the B & B Club in Singing during the 11:00 Worship and has been working towards incorporating more variety in our morning worship service. A big thanks goes out to her for working towards a more blended, balanced service. T-Thyme, our praise band has added more contemporary music and has provided a mix of Gospel, rock, R & B, and contemporary praise and worship music to our Sunday evening service. The fact that our evening service has doubled in size is a testimony to their hard work showing fruit for God.
2.We are in need of more volunteers to help in the nursery with Amy Ross and in watching the toddlers. The young ones love the Children's Church during the 11:00 worship hour, but we are growing and we need more folks to step up.
3.Bill watkins has been doing an exceptional job in keeping our webpage updated. Thanks Bill!
4.Liz Dennis and her father, Ray Anderson have stepped up to help with our Wednesday night Bible Studies. This has allowed me more time to work with the B & B and our youth group.I hope we can get a couple of volunteers to help greet the parents of the B & B children who do not always stay for Wed. night Bible Study.
5.We are inproving on our methods of following up on the visitors--Door prizes allow us to have a name and phone number of all who come. Our bulletin will begin to have the address and phone numbers of new members to help the congregation know how to invite them to events. The pew registers have also help identify visitors and those desiring to join the church.
6. We need to continue to pray about either a "Mother's Morning Out Program" or a "Parent's Night Out" program with entertainment for the young ones. Our church is needing more 25-35 year old members and we need to find creative ways to incourage them to come to our church. All it takes is a leader and some willing volunteers!

With God's help we are moving forward from being a very good church to a great church. I believe that we are praying more, inviting more, and following up better in making disciples for Jesus Christ. We have so many blessing to celebrate this first quarter and the possibilities are tremendously exciting for the rest of the year! Pastor Mike Shearon
